PLANTER PAINTING, March 2026
A painting of my daughter, who is also painting – though you cannot see that – with our home and a garden planter behind her. The house takes up most of the canvas, flattened and vivid, more presence than building.
These smaller paintings demand close inspection and create a connection with the viewer. Strong brushstrokes, primitive forms and a blazing red ground set an apprehensive tone.
