BRANCHING SELF, January 2025
One of the things I love about painting is that however I'm feeling when I start, while I'm painting that seeps away, and when I'm done, I'm different.

I painted Branching Self while I was struggling with a thorny question — feeling quite trapped and torn. I think I captured how I was feeling. But I also remember feeling so much better through the process, and I think the rich colours and intense gaze express that too — the enjoyment of painting itself, even in a difficult moment.
