BUDAPEST, 30 May 2026 ♥️
Painted in Holloway while watching Arsenal play Paris St Germain in the Champions League Final, Budapest, 30 May 2026.
I live close to the Emirates. For a few days, with Arsenal winning the Premier League for the first time in 22 years, everyone around here was celebrating. Everyone was euphoric when the Champions League final kicked off.
I painted Budapest during the match and it kept the nerves at bay. The vivid green of the pitch, the energy of the players, the crowd behind. All that colour and movement on the screen against the greys and mauves of the living room, brought together by our Arsenal scarf on the sofa.
The result was still unknown while I was painting and I finished just before the penalty shoot out.
They came so close ♥️
