GO TO BED, I DON'T SLEEP, August 2025

Self portrait wearing a Sam Vance Law t-shirt which is printed with a Norbert Bisky painting.

Sam is my stepson and he chose the painting for the cover of his album, Homotopia. (I love that album. Wonderful storytelling, every song different, complex and fun and completely ear-wormy. )

I wanted to celebrate Sam in the painting and also to have a go at the Bisky.

I don't always sleep well. When I set up the mirror to paint I looked at myself. The hair, the crazed sleepless, I thought, geez, what a mess. Then I decided just to be me and go for it.

The painting took a couple of days. The scale was pretty daunting. I asked my daughter - a fantastic artist - for advice. She said, Mum, use a bigger brush.
