GREEN COTTAGE MAN, February 2026

Green Cottage Man is a portrait of Bill Law, pictured in the summer house which has been in his family for more than a century.  

Painted on zoom, Green Cottage Man directly faces the viewer with an ambiguous stance both open, as his shirt is open, and closed, as his eyes are veiled. 

His shirt repeats the layers and patterns of green walls and timbers which surround him, giving the sense that he is merging into the structure of the building.
