LAST OF 2025, 31 December 2025Painted on the evening of New Year’s Eve, literally in the last hours of the year, Last of 2025 is a still life showing dried stems and seed-heads that came from a wild meadow. Against the cool blue-grey ground, their warm ochre glows. The shadows they cast pull the eye, dark, pooling at the base of the vase, reaching outward across the surface.
