SHADED PLACE, August 2025

Painted on location on the shores of the St Lawrence River, Canada, Shaded Place captures a moment of relaxation.

While the picnic chair takes centre stage, the subject of the painting lies back, only visible from their knees with their hands holding open the pages of their book. 

Much of the painting’s pleasure comes from the unlikely pink which underpins the blues and greens of the river scene.
