SPLIT TRUNK, GHOST WINDOW, January 2026

Painted over two days at a shared family home in Scotland, I worked from observation in the short January daylight.

I worked in multiple layers, responding to changes in sky and light until I recognised the essential elements: the split trunk, and the ghost window, a sealed window from a shed incorporated into the house some years ago.

The blue ground unpins throughout, unifying layers of observation, the passing of time, the memories held in the place.
