WAISTCOAT MAN, October 2025

Waistcoat Man is a portrait of my husband, painted from life in our home. The tartan waistcoat — vivid red and black — blazes against the quiet white of his shirt and the patterned world around him. He leans against a Palestinian cushion. His hands are clasped, his gaze inward. The busyness of the room makes his stillness more powerful.
